No, this isn't an April Fool's Joke.
I've been spending too much money. I'd already decided to cut back in April, but the inspiring Crunchy Chicken declared April a "Buy Nothing Challenge" month. The challenge is to only spend money on essentials.
Basically, this means none of the following:

This sounds really great (and good luck to you) however, I did something like this for the month of March! It was great, but I'm not sure I can do 2 months in a row! :)
This is a great challenge. I will not be able to meet it. I wish I could, but I am going on my first week long vacation with only my husband since we had kids. I am all about spending this month.
Maybe I will self impose the challenge in May.
My New Years Resolution was to NOT go to Target! It's possible if you can stock up on diapers for a good long time! Good Luck, Alana!
Hmmmmm, I'm thinkin on this one. What if the girls really, really do need new pj's? Are pj's an essential? Hmmmmmmm. We (I) DO need to cut back on spending. Gotta think on this some more.
How are ya'll feeling??
Quite a challenge. Could I do it? My hubby would love it!
By the way, your baby is beautiful! Congrats and feel better.
Good luck with your challenge! It reminds me of Judith Levine's book "Not Buying It." She vows to buy nothing but essentials for a year. Of course, she did find expensive haircuts, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, high speed Internet, and various other things "essential," so she wasn't exactly living a life of deprivation.
